Hello there, curious soul!

As the year draws to a close, we're looking back at the courses we've launched, the books we've read, and the fantastic people we've worked with. And we couldn't be more thrilled to share these brilliantly brainy topics with you in these newsletters.

One thing we haven't really touched on, however, is - who are Chris & the 42courses team??

Well, for better or worse, we recorded a podcast of all of us discussing our highlights from the year. If you'd like to meet the team, you can watch it here, or listen to it here.

As always, big love,

Chris & the 42courses team x

THE TUESDAY TAKEAWAY 💡

If our team talk left you bemused but still wondering what to read, let's turn the clock back one year and have a look at the 42courses team's Top Ten Books of 2023

This list includes not only book recommendations, but a few practical takeaways from each book as well.

Happy reading!

Here's what one of our learners had to say:

"One of the most effective and up-to-date digital marketing courses. Loved the mix of short video lessons and practical exercises at the end of the lessons." - Laura M.️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

WHAT MAKES THIS AD GREAT

It's not an official term, but marketing geeks have coined something called 'anti-advertising' and it's beautiful.

In a world where we're constantly bombarded with messages of "Buy This!" "Sign Up now!" and "While stocks last!", an ad that whispers "don't bother, I wouldn't" piques our interest like the one that got away.

This ad from tourism company, Visit Oslo is anti-advertising at its finest. It's a two minute film of a character we all know - the guy who's so disenchanted with his hometown, that he can't see why anyone would visit it.

Anti-advertising is doubly impressive because it requires a bravery that most brands don't have, but those who take the risk are often rewarded ten-fold.

If you love good ads like we do, learn how to make them in our Advertising Essentials course.
