Hello there, you wonderful sage of the digital age!

As Rob Mahew (adland's favourite influencer) says in this hilarious clip, maybe your boss has given a talk on the findings from Cannes Lions, or maybe they just went off to Glastonbury instead, but good news - we've done it for you.

Watch it here.

This talk from last week's live session covers what's really going on in the world of AI, the underrated power of humour, and the value of being more human, sprinkled with some brilliant case studies and exclusive interviews with experts from Cannes Lions and Nudgestock.

We put a lot of love and care into this, so we hope you enjoy it. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or comments anytime, or even to say hi 😊

Big love,

COURSE OF THE WEEK 🏆
While "AI" was on everybody's lips at Cannes, AI was actually used in very few of the entries, and featured in even fewer of the winners. So, how do you win at Cannes Lions?

By making great advertising. Duh.

This Advertising Essentials course teaches you, from start to finish, how to come up with ideas that stand out, reflect a brand's true essence, and resonate with people.

It's brimming with over 100 award-winning case studies, taught by industry experts, such as Les Binet, Quinnton Harris, Mariana O’Kelly, Josy Paul, Vicky Maguire, David Lubars, Nils Leonard, Rory Sutherland, and more.

Here's what one of our learners had to say:

"I wish I had taken this course 15 years ago when I started in advertising. This course is exactly what every aspiring creative and strategist would appreciate to take it to the next level and be one step closer to winning an award from Cannes Lions." - Jan M ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐
THE TUESDAY TAKEAWAY💡
Rory Sutherland, ever the proponent of being more human, explains "The Sutherland Paradox" in this short video.

He feels deeply enough about the problem to attach his own name: Irrational people (like creatives) always have to present their ideas to rational people, but it never happens the other way around.

Even more impressively, Rory explains why this should change in one sentence. Enjoy!
WHAT MAKES THIS AD GREAT
Australian comedian and artist Tim Minchin wrote and performed Play It Safe to celebrate the Sydney Opera House's 50 years of audacious existence.

An "ad" like this doesn't have to work as hard as, say, an insurance commercial to win people over, but this piece does something unique that is worth praising—it's ironic.

In Minchin's own words, "Irony requires you to trust that the audience will immediately get that the intention is the opposite of the content," making this ad about bravery, brave in and of itself.

It's also a heartwarming, delightful, and excellently crafted piece that celebrates the human spirit.

If you love good ads like we do, learn how to make them in our Advertising Essentials course.
